Have you ever wondered how to publish the Google Play app? Even though you can now create cross-platform apps and games, you need to know how to launch them to platform-specific stores. The Google Play Store is the largest marketplace for Android-based applications. 

For years, the Google Play Store has been the leading distributor of Android app applications. And today, we’re going to help you publish your Android app files on the Google Play Store.

If you want to find out how to publish an app to the Play Store, follow this below guide.

Let’s Get Started

First, open your Android Studio and open the Android game project that you want to upload to the google play store.

Click on the ‘Build’ option in the toolbar and select ‘Generate Signed APK’

Next, enter your Keystore details. Here, you’ll have two options.

  • Create New Keystore
  • Choose Existing Keystore

If you’ve already created a Keystore file, select that Keystore file path and enter Keystore information, key alias. And if you haven’t created a Keystore file, click on a new button to build one.

Process For Creating New Keystore

After clicking on the “Create a new” button, you will be prompted to identify the Keystore path and enter the following information.

  • Password and Confirm Password
  • Key Alias Name
  • Key Password and Confirm Password
  • “First Name” and “Last Name” of your Android app name or your organization name.

Generate Signed APK

Once you have successfully generated your Keystore, click Generate Signed APK. You will be asked to identify the APK destination folder. And when you’re uploading your Android app, remember to choose ‘Release Build Form.’

Next, open your web browser and go to Google Play Developer Console from the following link – https://play.google.com/apps/publish/.

Login to your Google developer account.

If you don’t have a developer account, click on the Sign-Up button in the right corner and follow the general steps for build a new Google account.

however, You’ll need to pay a one-time fee of $25 to create a developer account. Once you pay the fee, log in to the developer console with the same account.

Here, click on the ‘Create New Application’ button 

at the top right of the page.

Enter the name of your application on the pop-up tab. For your Android application title, you can enter a name of up to 30 characters.

Next for your Android application, add a description. In the description area, you can enter an app description of up to 4000 characters.

Now upload the graphic assets. Here, you can upload different images for your game.

  • Screenshots (minimum 2 screenshots are required. Maximum 8 screenshots).
  • High-resolution icon (512 x 512 32-bit PNG)
  • Feature Graphic (1024 x 500 24-bit PNG)

After uploading a graphic, select your application category.

  • Application
  • Games

Select a corresponding category for your Android application from the next drop-down column.

Next, if you collect personal and confidential data, add the Privacy Policy URL.

Now go to the Price & Distribution tab and choose whether to upload a free or paid Android version. You can also pick which countries to distribute your app in.

Once you add price & delivery information, you will have to define whether or not your app contains advertisements. If it has advertising, click on Yes.

Upload your Android program next. Click on the button ‘Upload your first Output APK’. 

Here you will be prompted to upload an APK file. Click the Search files button and choose your APK file.

Finally, once you’ve completed all these steps, you’ll see the ‘Ready to Publish’ button on the top-left corner of your screen. Now just press the Publish button and it will publish your Android App.
